  • The Hopkinton Public Schools: Lots of Reasons for Community Pride…

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s time to do a little bragging on behalf of our school system.

Earlier this week we learned that U.S. News and World Report has ranked Hopkinton High School the third best High School in Massachusetts. The first and second- ranked schools are a charter school and Boston Latin, which is an exam school. Thus, Hopkinton High is the top-ranked ‘regular’ high school in the state. In June 2011, Newsweek also ranked Hopkinton High School above all other ‘regular’ high schools in Massachusetts.

  • Capital Asset Assessments
The Hopkinton Public Schools recently completed two capital asset assessments. The first, conducted by Habeeb & Associates Architects, evaluates the existing interior and exterior conditions of our facilities, identifies problems and potential solutions, and provides cost estimates costs to perform the work. Click here for the full assessment.

The second, conducted by Gale Associates, provides a more detailed assessment of the window systems at the Center Elementary School. Like the first, it identifies problems and potential solutions, and; provides cost estimates costs to perform the work. Click here for the full assessment.

Please note that costs cited in both reports are estimates for budgeting purposes, and are subject to change. The Habeeb report's cost estimate for replacement of the Elmwood roof and the Gale study estimate for restoration of the windows in the 1928 section of the Center School have already been included in capital warrant article requests submitted to the Town Manager.
